A Woolly Winter

Winter has arrived. There’s snow on Mount Arthur, the mornings are chilly and the sunshine hours are shorter – but sunshine there still is here in Nelson. Keeping up with the dyeing has moved into a new gear – Dark Greywacke and lots of winter brights are in demand, and a few precious hours of sunshine for the hanks to dry outside. There’s a 2 day felting workshop next week so woolly sliver has to be dyed in time. The house is warm with a good woodfire, and hanks spread out to finish drying. It is a cosy woolly winter.
