Rough Ridge DK

Rough Ridge is a soft woollen spun yarn that is a blend of Merino-cross wool and natural coloured Polwarth. Polwarth is a ¾ merino sheep so the wool is very compatible with the merino cross wool we use for our yarns. The coloured wool has been randomly distributed through the product while being carded, hence the variation of colour throughout the skein. We suggest that garments with simple shapes without seams are best for this yarn, allowing the variations of colour to be displayed. The yarn has a three-ply construction and a beautiful heathered finish. When knitted, the fabric is lightweight and cosy.

Being woollen spun you can use Rough Ridge for patterns that require a standard DK yarn or for patterns requiring a worsted weight yarn. We recommend using 4mm or 4.5mm needles. If making a garment, remember to check your gauge for a good fit.

Available both hand-dyed and natural undyed. This yarn has not been superwash treated. Hand wash and dry flat. Your garment will soften with washing.
