We at Maniototo Wool have been very busy compiling a new collection of wool colours named “The Geraldine Collection”. We moved to Geraldine a few months ago and have become involved in a co-op shop in the main street of the town. These new hand dyed colours are now available at “Country Rumours”, 11 Talbot St Geraldine. One day a month, usually the first Wednesday, you will find Mary (that’s me) looking after the shop. We are very excited about the colours. Here are the first two.
“Talbot Forest ” – a rich green named after the wonderful native forest covering the lower slopes above the town, and “Riverstone” – a pale silvery grey, named after the smooth stones to be found at the mouth of the Waihi River
…and after much debate about naming the third colour, here is “Matai”, a rich autumnal orange which is the colour of the 10 Matai trees we will be planting in the native bush that surrounds our new home in Geraldine.
